Margaret Bott joined City ArtWorks’ as Executive Director in May 2015. Since the 1990s, she has led several non-profit organizations through transition eras. She was Marketing Director for Young Audiences of Houston, and Development Director for the Chinese Community Center, Asia Society Texas Center, Community Artists Collective and other non-profit organizations. A native Houstonian, Margaret is an alumna of the University of Houston majoring in English and Business. She was an award-winning medical writer for the Galveston Daily News prior to being owner/director of Loft-on-Strand Gallery in Galveston. She attended many of David Brauer’s art history classes at the Glassell School of Art, as well as numerous workshops in leadership, business, and fundraising. She is married to artist HJ Bott, and they live in Houston with a white cat and 16 art RobottsTM.

Melinda Miles is a recent resident of Houston, graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Film Studies in 2013. Melinda served on the Parental Advisory Board of Dreams of Wilmington, NC for eight years, where she headed committees and wrote grants for semi-annual fundraisers for the organization. She has been published twice in UNCW’s Film Matters Magazine and she is skilled in office management and video editing. In addition to being an avid film fan, Melinda has a passion for theater, having acted in many Community Theater productions in Wilmington, including Seussical the Musical and The Sound of Music.
